I will be posting a tutorial on how to texture your walls!!

Giving new life into old furniture

Do you have some old, tired looking furniture laying around?
Would you like to re-decorate but are on a budget?
Well with just a little spray paint and imagination you can take your old furniture and give it new life.

In this post I will show you how to redo an old wooden chair and modernize it!

This is an old chair we had that needed some repurposing.

Since it had been previously varnished and we didn't want to go through the trouble of sanding it, we just used some spray paint primer on it.

We gave it a few coats and let it dry. If some rough edges or air bubbles are present you can sand those lightly down.

Next we took some Ivory Spray paint in a matte finish and sprayed the entire chair.
We did tape off an area that had a type of wicker material. We wanted to give it a slight gold metallic touch. We simply sprayed some hammered gold color spray paint unto a piece of wood and dry brushed it.

When using spray paint it is better to do it in small sections using a light hand at first then giving it seperate coats until all done. If you use too much paint at once you'll end up with drips and streaks.

Next we tightened the springs under the seat to give it more stability.

This was done with some metal plates bought at Home Depot and tied strongly with a string.

This particular chair's seat pops up and out. We then recovered the seat with a pretty fabric.
And voila! New Chair!
